Labelling Mass Spectrometry Details

Mass spectrometry can be used to report on various different labelling stratgies for interrogating protein structure. These include hydrogen/deuterium, footprinting, and crosslinking experients. In all these cases mass spectrometry is used to assess the extent and location of the inserted label. This allows the mapping of important parameters such as solvent accessiblity, flexibility, and inter- and intra-molecular connectivity to the proteins being studied.
